Traceability and dispatch

In previous posts we have talked about different procedures within Blasco Fruit, through which the quality of all our products is ensured. Something essential for monitoring this quality is traceability.

In addition to the department in charge exclusively of the numbering, labeling and monitoring of each batch of product, the figure of the dispatch manager is essential at the time of the arrival of the fruit and its subsequent shipment to the customer. Therefore, we are going to see in detail some of its functions:

At first, when the fruit arrives from the field to the warehouse, he is the person in charge of identifying where the product comes from, weighing it, and assigning a traceability code.

During the production process, it takes into account the orders pending shipment, to track them. In addition, he takes photos during the process, so that the quality of the fruit is documented from the entrance to the exit.

Once the fruit has been boxed, treated in the chamber and kept cold, it is ready to be sent to the customer. At this time, the dispatch manager is in charge of all the logistics: talking with carriers, assigning loading hours, completing the necessary documentation, etc. In addition, he is in charge of supervising and photographing the loading; as well as helping the quality manager to carry out the pertinent controls (coldness, roughness, etc.) before sending the merchandise.

Finally, if the transport is going to last several days, a thermograph will be placed to check that the temperature of the refrigerated truck is adequate throughout the journey, and thus ensure the correct conservation of the fruit.
